Megumi Kiyozuka
Managing Director – Head of Japan

Megumi Kiyozuka leads the investment activities of Sunrise Capital and serves as a board member of portfolio companies.

Prior to joining CLSA Capital Partners in 2006, Mr. Kiyozuka was a Director at Carlyle Group Tokyo, where he was focused on Japanese buyout opportunities in the consumer, healthcare, and industrial sectors. Prior to that, Mr. Kiyozuka was a Senior Manager at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi where he has accumulated over 10 years of experience in M&A and syndicate loans across various countries in Asia. He holds a B.A. in economics from Shiga University and an M.B.A. from Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley

Ryoichiro Minagawa
Managing Director

Mr. Minagawa currently serves as the deal leader and director for LIFEDRINK COMPANY, Worldtool and El Dorado in Sunrise II. Previously, he also served as the deal leader and director (interim Chairman and CEO) for MIRIVE in Sunrise II and a deal member for Nihon Integrand in Sunrise I. He was also previously the interim CEO for LIFEDRINK COMPANY. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in June 2008, he worked for the Investment Banking Division of Nikko Citigroup Limited. During his career at Nikko Citigroup, he was involved in many M&A deals, including MBOs, and corporate finance deals, such as public offerings. Before that, he worked for Ernst & Young ShinNihon as an auditor and IPO consultant. Mr. Minagawa holds a B.A. in Management from Kobe University and is licensed as a CPA in Japan.

Shunji Naka
Managing Director

Mr. Naka currently serves as a deal member and auditor for BC Ings in Sunrise II. Previously, he also served as the deal leader and director for BayCurrent Consulting in Sunrise II, deal leader and auditor for Everlife and a deal member for Trustex, both in Sunrise I. He also served on the statutory audit committee of Everlife. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in October 2007, he worked for the M&A advisory division of Daiwa Securities SMBC. Before that, he worked for the M&A advisory division and commercial banking division of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). During his 7-year career in the M&A advisory business at SMBC, he had advised on numerous M&A deals in a broad range of sectors, as well as LBOs, MBOs, PIPEs and exit transactions. Mr. Naka holds a B.A. in Management from Sophia University.

Takayuki Ishihara
Director

Mr. Ishihara recently joined the Sunrise team in March 2017. Prior to joining the Sunrise team he was most recently with Lincoln International Inc. as a Managing Director, where he led the origination and execution of various domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, engaged in extensive due diligence activities as well as prepared legal/IR documentations. Prior to that, he was an Associate at Citigroup Global Markets Japan, Daiwa Securities SMBC Co. Ltd., and Okasan Securities Ltd., respectively. Mr. Ishihara holds a B.A. in Economics from Yokohama National University M.S. in Administrative Studies from Boston University.

Yasunori Maeda
Director

Mr. Maeda currently serves as a deal member and Director for both Worldtool and El Dorado in Sunrise II. Previously, he also served as a deal member and director/auditor for MIRIVE in Sunrise II and a deal member and director for Everlife in Sunrise I. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in April 2011, he was an associate on the Japan private equity team at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. for 2 years. Mr. Maeda began his career at the investment banking division of Nikko Citigroup (currently known as Citigroup Global Markets Japan Inc.) where he worked on various M&A and capital markets transactions mainly in the Japanese financial services industry. During his tenure at Nikko Citigroup, he also worked on the financial services M&A team at Citigroup Global Markets Inc. (NY). Mr. Maeda holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering from Kyoto University.

Hidetsugu Agata
Senior Vice President

Mr. Agata previously served as a deal member for Baroque and as a deal member and director/auditor for Trustex, both in Sunrise I. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in 2006, Hidetsugu Agata held the position of Assistant President at Mabuchi Motor, the market leader in small-sized motor production, in the Corporate Planning Department. Before that, he was a Senior Associate at PwC Advisory group, providing advice on business recovery for various private equity funds as well as on sales of non-performing loans, and also worked for the former Long Term Credit Bank of Japan in the Corporate Finance Department. Mr. Agata holds a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Kyoto University.

Ryuhei Yamaguchi
Senior Vice President

Mr. Yamaguchi currently serves as a deal member and Director for LIFEDRINK COMPANY in Sunrise II. Previously, he also served as a deal member and director for BayCurrent Consulting in Sunrise II, a deal member for Baroque and Everlife in Sunrise I and also supported fundraising for Sunrise II. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in April 2011, he was an associate at the Global Banking Division of Citigroup Global Markets Japan, specializing in M&A advisory work for both domestic and cross-border transactions. Mr. Yamaguchi holds a B.Sc. in MORSE (Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics) from Warwick University in the United Kingdom.

Keisuke Shitomi
Vice President

Mr. Shitomi currently serves as the deal leader and director for BC Ings in Sunrise II. Previously he also served as a deal member and auditor for BayCurrent Consulting in Sunrise II. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in January 2015, he was a senior associate at McKinsey & Company, where he was engaged in several clients mainly in manufacturing and consumer industries. He also worked for the financial services division of Mitsubishi Corporation for seven years. Mr. Shitomi holds a B.A. in Commerce from Waseda University and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business (as Fulbright Scholar).

Ginichi Kuramasu
Senior Associate

Mr. Kuramasu currently serves as a deal member and auditor for LIFEDRINK COMPANY in Sunrise II. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in July 2014, he was an Associate at Macquarie Capital Securities working on M&A transactions in various industries. Prior to that he was an Associate Director at UBS Securities where he was focused on cross-border M&A transactions and global equity offerings including initial public offerings in the healthcare industry. Before UBS he worked at Deutsche Securities in Global Capital Markets. Mr. Kuramasu holds a B.A. in Civil Engineering from Kyoto University.

Masamune Konakamura
Associate

Mr. Konakamura currently serves as a deal member and auditor for Worldtool in Sunrise II. Previously he also served as a deal member for MIRIVE in Sunrise II and also supported fundraising activities. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in October 2014, he was an analyst at Lazard Frères K.K. specializing in M&A advisory work for both domestic and cross-border transactions. Prior to that, he was a business analyst at Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting LLC specializing in management consulting work mainly for automotive and healthcare sectors. Mr. Konakamura received education for 7 years in the United States and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Babson College.

Masashi Komenoi
Associate

Mr Komenoi recently joined the Sunrise team in May 2017. Prior to joining the Sunrise team he was with The Boston Consulting Group, where he mainly engaged in management consulting, mainly focusing on Aviation, Telecommunication, Energy and Insurance industries. He contributed to various projects such as developing growth strategies, supporting business alliances, designing new organizational structures and implementing engineering business processes. He also worked for Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting for 4 years. Mr. Komeoni holds a B.A. in Management Systems Engineering from Waseda University and an Aerospace MBA from the Toulouse Business School.

Yuya Yonemori
Analyst

Mr. Yonemori currently serves as a deal member and director for BC Ings and as a deal member and auditor for El Dorado in Sunrise II. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in September 2016, he was an associate at Nomura Securities' Investment Banking Division where he was mainly engaged in M&A advisory work for both domestic and cross-border transactions. Mr. Yonemori holds a B.A. in Business and Commerce from Keio University.

Shota Kuwaki
Director – Investor Relations

Mr. Kuwaki has over 10 years of experience in the finance industry, including 1 year with Sunrise. He has extensive experience in both public equities, engaging in equity research, as well as in private equity, engaging in investor relations and fundraising activities at Japan-focused small-to-mid cap buyout funds. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in January 2016, Mr. Kuwaki has previously worked as an investor relations/fundraising professional at a domestic buyout fund sponsor, Advantage Partners, as well as a product manager at Macquarie Securities and Mizuho Securities. Additionally he has experience in the field of insurance at AIG. Mr. Kuwaki holds a B.A. in Economics degree from Keio University.

Karen Hon
Head of Finance – Sunrise Capital

Ms. Hon has over 15 years of experience in the finance industry, including 7 years with Sunrise. She has extensive finance and fund administration experience in the management of a number of private equity funds pursuing diverse investment strategies, including funds investing in well-established, mid-cap companies, as well as funds investing in the infrastructure and real estate sectors. Ms. Hon has previously worked for the Finance and Fund Administration departments of private equity funds managed by AIG Global Investment Corporation, J.P. Morgan and Macquarie Global Property Advisors. Ms. Hon holds a B.S. in Commerce with majors in Accounting and Finance from the Macquarie University and a Masters degree from the University of New South Wales.

Kentaro Sakamoto
Senior Associate – Investor Relations/Finance

Mr. Sakamoto has over 10 years of experience in the finance industry and joined the Sunrise team in March 2017. He has extensive finance and fund administration experience in the management of a domestic private equity fund, as well as experience working on the investment side at a domestic asset management firm. Prior to joining the Sunrise team in March 2017, Mr. Sakamoto worked at Tokio Marine Asset Management where he was responsible for monitoring investment activities of private funds, preparing marketing materials, and managing/supporting a large client base as a primary contact. Previously he also worked for for Pictet Asset Management and also worked at Advantage Partners. Mr. Sakamoto holds a B.A. in Business and Commerce from Keio University.
